5.      REPORTS

  1. ADC  Boy Scouts – Len has a box with Scouting information, which comes out at every Roundtable.  This information needs to be promoted.
  2. ADC Cub Scouts – Jae talked about the Family Campout.  They had between 300 and 400 people attending.  Pow Wow went fairly well, everyone did a good job.  Attendance could have been better.  He also talked about Outreach Scouting.  He and Brian went to a meeting.  It is necessary to recruit organizations established with minority communities.  The committee will have another meeting soon.  Ken reported on JOTA, which was held in conjunction with Pow Wow.

  1. Len went to Venture and Sea Scout Leader training.

  1. ADC Schools.  Jimmy Shine reported that Learning for Life went from 4 to 24 units.  195 kids were signed up at Roundup and 225 for Learning for Life.

  1. RTC Boy Scouts.  Ken reported that Roundtable was poorly attended again.  At the next RT they will talk about the banquet.  Ken made nomination forms for outstanding leaders.  The banquet will be January 31, 2002 at Ben Quinn Cafeteria at 6:30 PM.  The speaker will be Mayor Tom Bayliss, and Tom Copeland will install officers.  The meal will be catered and is free.  Dan Grummert will probably take over as Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner.

  1. ADC Cub Scouts.  Darlene reported that they had 29 people for training.  Nancy McGuire is the new Cubmaster for Pack 5510 in Bridgeton.  The Cubs are having a toy drive for Cub Scout age kids in New York, New Jersey, and Washington.  December 18 is Roundtable Christmas party.

  1. Venturing.  No report.

6.      Unit Health.  Nancy is the Cubmaster for Pack 5510.  Pack 50 is not registered yet, they need a Webelos Leader first.  Troop 494 will re-register.  They are still looking for leaders.  Jimmy Brinkley said the charter for Troop 67 went in, but Len has not seen it.  Troop and Pack 111’s charters are back.  Len will get 132’s on Monday.

7.      Commissioner Service – Ken talked about the new Council Commissioner strip and explained the requirements for receiving it.  The only way one can get it is by attending a Commissioner Cabinet meeting in full uniform.

8.      The next meeting will be December 8th and will be held at Charlie’s Pizza.  This will be our Christmas meeting.  Len announced the winners in the popcorn sale.  Pack 683 won 1st and 2nd place with $1,510 and $1,284 worth sold.  Pack 67 came in 3rd with $1,205.  Congratulations.

9.      Jimmy Shine did a reading about putting rocks, pebbles and sand in a jar.  After that he asked for a moment of silence in memory of Ervin Sandvig, a past Sea Scout Leader, who died last week.

Respectfully submitted
